SANE CONTINUES TO REVEL IN NEW ROLE

There have been many improvements at Bayern Munich this season under Julian Nagelsmann, but one of the biggest changes has been the influence of Leroy Sane on the side.

Moved to the left and in off the wing, Sane has turned into a different force, with his goal off the bench earning Bayern a pivotal 1-0 win at Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday to move them eight points clear at the top of the standings.

That is now 13 goals in the Bundesliga this season for Sane, with only Robert Lewandowski scoring more often for Bayern. Successful teams need numerous match winners in their ranks, and Nagelsmann has turned Sane into another.

ALL NOT WELL AT DORTMUND

Borussia Dortmund fans will want to forget the last week in a hurry.

After Thursday's draw at Glasgow Rangers meant Dortmund had failed to make it to the last 16 in a European competition for the first time since 2011-12, a disappointing 1-1 draw at Augbsurg on Sunday meant their title dreams faded yet further.

They had worked hard to get back on Bayern's tails in recent months, but a limp showing on Sunday undid all of that. It will now take a monumental turnaround to win it from here.
