Both Arsenal and Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing Leicester playmaker James Maddison this summer.
The one-cap England international, 25, has scored 13 goals and provided eight assists this season, helping Leicester reach the quarter-finals of the Europa Conference League. He is valued at £60million and has 26 months left on his existing deal.
Maddison would be a huge asset for either Arsenal or Tottenham, yet the former club may be confident of securing his services after he provided a glowing reference of Bukayo Saka. The winger, 20, is widely regarded as one of the best youngsters in English football.
"I do really like the young lad Saka at Arsenal," said Maddison in November 2020. "He’s got a bit of special about him. He’s a very good dribbler of the ball – he’s a ball carrier.
"And the thing is, I’d watched him quite closely, because you know these days, especially when some someone comes onto the scene quickly, they get put straight up here don’t they, and they get headlights fully on them, all the spotlights.
"Sometimes that can make a player take a step backwards depending on how they deal with it. But he obviously took it in his stride and Mikel Arteta seems to really like him. Big thing for him getting the number seven shirt I think. Little things like that really shows
