'Bubbles' O'Dwyer announces Tipperary retirement
Tipperary's two-time All-Ireland SHC winner John 'Bubbles' O’Dwyer has announced his his retirement from inter-county hurling.
A knee injury sidelined the 31-year-old forward in 2022. He last played for the Premier County in the 2021 All-Ireland quarter-final loss against Waterford.
O'Dwyer lifted the Liam MacCarthy Cup in 2016 and 2019 with Tipp, and won Munster titles in 2015 and 2016.
"I would like to thank all the management teams from minor level up to senior who helped me over the last 15 years," he said on Thursday.
"It was a great pleasure to represent my county and win some silverware along the way. Thanks to those close to me and to my club Killenaule, who without their support it wouldn't have been possible. So long."
