Bruno Guimaraes' sensational backheel volley has earned Newcastle a 2-1 win over Southampton.

The Brazil international arrived from Lyon in January and he's been eased into English football by manager Eddie Howe.

It didn't take long for the Magpies to respond however, as Chris Wood popped up to score his first goal since joining from Burnley in January.

Guimaraes scored seven minutes after the restart as Newcastle extended their unbeaten run in the Premier League to nine games.

They're now ten points clear of the relegation zone despite not registering a win until December.
