Bruno Fernandes slams claims Manchester United squad are unhappy with Ralf Rangnick’s tactics

Bruno Fernandes has denied claims that some of his team-mates at Manchester United are unhappy with Ralf Rangnick’s tactics and he says it would be disrespectful to criticise the German’s methods.

Despite losing just one of his 12 Premier League matches since replacing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the mood around Rangnick’s tenure at Old Trafford has been far from good.

Rumblings of players’ discontent have been rife, while Rangnick has admitted he had to let the likes of Amad Diallo, Anthony Martial and Donny van de Beek leave in January because they were unhappy.

United players are said to have nicknamed Rangnick’s assistant, Chris Armas, after fictional American coach Ted Lasso and the squad are not said to be impressed with the German’s coaching.

However, speaking ahead of the side’s clash against Atletico Madrid tomorrow, Fernandes was asked if the players had any input about the team’s tactics and he dismissed claims that any of the players are unhappy.

‘About the formation, nobody has to worry about that more than the coach and his staff,’ said Fernandes.

‘We [the players] have to follow what the manager thinks is the best way for us.

‘In this club I never heard someone complain about the tactics and I hope no-one will do that, it is not respectful.’
