Bruno Fernandes reveals how long he intends to stay at Manchester United for

Bruno Fernandes has admitted that staying at Manchester United long-term is important to him due to the happiness his family have found in the city.

The Portugal international has been a leading figure for the Reds since his arrival in January 2020. He has provided 51 goals and 40 assists in his 134 outings for the club.

Fernandes committed his future to United by signing a new four-year deal in March that keeps him at the club until summer 2026, by which time he will be 31. It seems he is very comfortable in Manchester, telling in-house media that he has embraced the culture of the community.

He revealed he once went to a pub to play darts with teammates and staff, reminding him of his days in coffee shops as a youngster in Portugal, and how his daughter has picked up a Mancunian accent when speaking English.

“I want to be here for many years. I want to have some stability for my family,” Fernandes said. "We like to be here, we like to be in this country, we want to have the family established here and the kids growing up here, having their friends, being happy. That’s the most important thing for us.”

When asked what his favourite thing about Manchester was, he smiled before replying: "The weather." Fernandes then admitted that playing for United had always been a dream of his, adding: “Being a kid in Portugal, watching the Premier League and watching the club, it was always a dream to come to the Theatre of Dreams, Old Trafford, and to experience that.
