Bruno Fernandes misses Man Utd vs Tottenham as Cristiano Ronaldo and Marcus Rashford return to starting XI
Bruno Fernandes will miss Manchester United’s Premier League clash against Tottenham through illness.
Ralf Rangnick’s side can climb back into the top four with victory and there are returns to the starting XI for both Cristiano Ronaldo and Marcus Rashford who join Jadon Sancho in attack.
Ronaldo missed last week’s defeat to Manchester City with a hip problem but returned to training this week.
Rashford meanwhile is back in the side following a week of reports claiming he is unhappy over his lack of game time at United and could consider leaving the club.
David de Gea starts at Old Trafford tonight after returning a false positive Covid test earlier in the day with Dean Henderson on the bench.
Luke Shaw remains out after testing positive during the week but there is a return for Raphael Varane who missed the defeat to Manchester City last week for the same reasons.
Nemanja Matic comes into midfield with Scott McTominay ruled out with a thigh injury.
Diogo Dalot is preferred at right-back with Aaron Wan-Bissaka one of four defenders on the United bench.
Edinson Cavani is also among the substitutes after his recent injury problems.
