Bruce confirms Jayson Molumby to stay at West Brom

West Brom manager Steve Bruce has confirmed that Republic of Ireland midfielder Jayson Molumby will be remaining at the club, his loan deal from Brighton having already been made permanent.

The 22-year-old midfielder joined West Brom on loan at the beginning of the season, playing 29 league games for the club so far, scoring his first goal away to Middlesbrough in February.

"Molumby is done, it was done weeks ago," Bruce confirmed in his press conference this afternoon.

"The deal kicked in weeks ago, so he is our player now. He is a young player who has got a lot to learn still. But he wants to win. He has got a bit of an attitude which I like. He will be here next year."

Molumby joined Brighton as a teenager in 2017, having loan spells at Millwall and Preston North End in the interim. He earned 12 caps for Ireland in 2020 and 2021, last featuring as a sub in the 1-1 draw at home to Serbia in September.
