Browns QB Deshaun Watson throws every other day in rehab - ESPN

BEREA, Ohio — Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson is throwing every other day as he continues his rehab from season-ending shoulder surgery, head coach Kevin Stefanski said Wednesday.

Cleveland held its first OTA practice Tuesday, and the team posted video of Watson throwing passes. Watson did not throw Wednesday, the first session that was open to media, but he still participated in individual and team drills.

«He looked like himself to me,» Stefanski said. «I've been able to watch him the last couple of weeks now that we've gotten into phase 2. So, I've seen him throw. He's making great progress. We will just continue to follow the medical team on this but he looks like himself.»

Watson underwent season-ending surgery in November to repair a displaced fracture to the glenoid in his throwing shoulder. Injuries limited him to just six games in 2023.

Watson previously said he is throwing full speed, and general manager Andrew Berry said he expects Watson to be ready for the start of the 2024 season.

With Watson not throwing Wednesday, backups Jameis Winston and Tyler Huntley took the bulk of reps in team drills. Dorian Thompson-Robinson, who suffered a season-ending hip injury last year, was in attendance but not participating.
