Broncos' Reynolds in positive COVID test
Star recruit Adam Reynolds looks set to miss Brisbane's NRL season opener against South Sydney after being sent home from training following a positive COVID-19 test.
Captain Reynolds as well as young hooker Kobe Hetherington, reported minor flu-like symptoms and returned a positive Rapid Antigen Tests, the club said on Thursday.
They are waiting for results from PCR tests and, if positive, they will be required to isolate for a seven-day period and return a negative test before returning to the club.
The club said that a positive result would rule them out of the round-one match against the Rabbitohs in Brisbane next Friday night, "in line with return-to-play protocols once players come out of isolation".
Reynolds was already in doubt for the clash with his former club with a hamstring injury which kept him out of the final match trial against North Queensland last Saturday night.
