Broken Hill's Hannah Muscat set to make SANFLW debut

Former Central Magpies star Hannah Muscat is set to make her SANFLW debut this weekend.

The 29-year-old has been rewarded following her strong form in North Adelaide's development side.

The speedy midfielder took out last year's Jan Corey medal, awarded to Broken Hill's best female footballer.

According to Muscat's head coach, Krissie Steen, her consistency and attack of the ball made it impossible to leave her out of the side.

«She's very talented, she's very fast and very fit,» she said.

Steen said she planned to take full advantage of Muscat's attributes by playing her through the midfield.

«You can't fault Hannah's effort at the ball, and she is absolutely relentless.

»She'll be going in there in and under and that's her instruction, 'I want you to go in and get the ball'. It's as simple as that.

«That's what she's good at and that's what she's there for.»

Her coach said she was confident she had what it took to play at one of the country's top leagues.

«As long as she focuses on what she's good at and doesn't spin herself out.

I'm expecting her to have an impressive game,» she said.

Steen is hoping the chemistry between the Jan Corey medallist and former South Broken Hill footballer, Meg Ryan, will benefit the team.

«When you get that connection through friendship you tend to see stronger performances on the field,» she said.

North Adelaide take on Woodville West Torrens at 6:50 at Woodville Oval tonight.
