Brighton star sends Premier League warning to Manchester United after controversial comments

Brighton's Lewis Dunk has warned Manchester United his side "can beat anyone" ahead of Tuesday's match at Old Trafford.

United's last two league outings have seen them draw with Burnley and Southampton, throwing away a lead in both games.

Jadon Sancho's first-half strike gave United the lead against the Saints on Saturday before Che Adams restored parity after the break.

Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl made some controversial comments in the wake of his side's draw, saying in his post-match interview: "It's not a big secret that when [United] lose the ball, their reverse gear is not always the best from everybody."

Old Trafford seems to have lost its fear factor over the last decade and Brighton captain Dunk, perhaps inspired by Hasenhuttl's comments, has warned United that his side are more than capable of winning the match on Tuesday night.

“We’re ready for anyone and if we perform as well as we know we can, we can beat anyone," Dunk told Brighton's in-house media.

“We’ve got to go there with confidence, we’re going into it off the back of a win and we know we can execute the game plans that the gaffer wants. You never know what the result will be, but we go to Old Trafford wanting a positive result.”

United can move up to fourth in the Premier League with a win against Brighton.
