Brighton could turn to Nottingham Forest transfer target amid Marc Cucurella to Man City links

Brighton & Hove Albion have reportedly identified a replacement for Marc Cucurella should he leave during the summer transfer window.

Manchester City have been linked with a move for the Spaniard and a bid could arrive once the transfer of Oleksandr Zinchenko to Arsenal is confirmed. Albion are understood to value Cucurella at £50million, which is reportedly out of the reigning Premier League champion's price range.

No bids have been received by Brighton thus far for Cucurella, but it has been widely reported that City could formalise their interest once Zinchenko's future is decided. But should the Seagulls' 2021/22 player of the year and players' player of the year winner move on, it appears Graham Potter's side could turn their attention to Real Betis defender Alex Moreno according to Spanish outlet Mucho Deporte’s Ignacio Caceres Dastis.

Moreno has attracted the attention of newly-promoted Premier League side Nottingham Forrest and the Seagulls may have to move quickly to not miss out on him. The report adds that Betis will be looking for €25million to prise the 29-year-old away from La Liga this summer.

But Brighton have maintained that Cucurella is not for sale this summer, with Graham Potter recently stating how the Spaniard continues to be a "top professional" despite the continued speculation over his future. And Brighton chairman Tony Bloom has also been full of praise for the 23-year-old.
