Brian Fenton's one-game ban stands as appeal fails ahead of Meath clash
Brian Fenton looks set to miss Dublin's Leinster quarter-final with Meath after his appeal against the red card picked up in the Division 1 final was unsuccessful.
The midfielder was sent off in the final moments of the thrilling penalty shoot-out loss to Derry after an incident with Eunan Mulholland and was hit with a proposed category three suspension for "behaving in any way which is dangerous to an opponent."
Dublin boss Dessie Farrell indicated afterwards that they would likely appeal the decision, but the Central Hearings Committee have deemed the infraction proven and the one-game ban stands.
Fenton still has further routes of appeal ahead of this weekend’s tie, which will be shown live on RTÉ2, with the next step the Central Appeals Committee.
