Brian Dowling back for fourth year as Kilkenny camogie boss

All-Ireland winning camogie manager Brian Dowling will be back with Kilkenny next year.

Dowling will take charge for a fourth season having led the Cats to two titles in his three seasons in charge so far.

The O'Loughlin Gaels clubman will keep the same backroom team that helped him guide Kilkenny past Cork in the August decider.

Dowling recently revealed his frustration at the lack of grants for a team holiday, as is the custom in men's Gaelic games.

"We are all aware that funds are tight everywhere and not every governing body supplies such grants, but at the same time, I wonder are people aware that the girls have to fully fund the trip themselves – that is if the trip is even affordable in the first place," he said last week.

"Having a team holiday is not a priority for us but when you see the contribution that is made towards the men's teams, its something we feel we would like to see change going forward for all teams that reach All-Ireland camogie finals."

Seamus Kelly has been ratified as the new Kilkenny intermediate manager and will also be a senior selector with Dowling.
