Brentford vs Manchester United prediction and odds: Ten Hag's side vulnerable favourites

Check out our 11/4 Brentford vs Manchester United prediction below

New season, same old problems. The fresh wave of optimism that Erik ten Hag brought with him from Ajax has disappeared in the the space of just 90 minutes of opening-weekend action.

United were picked apart by a well-organised and well-drilled Brighton side last weekend and it would hardly be the biggest surprise in football if Brentford did the same at the Community Stadium on Saturday evening. The Bees are 11/4 outsiders with Betway to turn United over, while Erik ten Hag's side are even money chances to get their season up and running with three points.

United will need to do something they haven't done since February 20 — win a game away from Old Trafford. They couldn't muster a single point from their last six away games last term and we it's a brave punter that wants to get involved in United at even money given what we saw last weekend.

It promises to be quite an atmosphere in west London. Brentford showed the sort of spirit and belief that United so badly lack when they came from two goals down at Leicester last weekend — a result that must have felt like a win to Thomas Frank and his players.

Despite the scoreline, it wasn't a game packed with big chances, indeed the xGF of both sides was lower than 1.0. It says plenty about the Bees that Leicester dominated possession but were unable to create many big openings against this well-drilled Brentford outfit.

Frank's side deserved much more than they got in this fixture last term and the signs are that they are in a position to exact revenge this time around.

Unless Erik ten Hag quickly finds some answers to United's multitude of problems then Reds don't warrant support at even money
