Brentford Set To Investigate Ivan Toney After Video Goes Viral

Ivan Toney has been forced to apologise to Brentford, and the club's fans, after a video of him shouting 'f**k Brentford' went viral.

On Friday Toney was all over social media after the video, recorded from someone's Snapchat, whilst the striker was on holiday during the international break, was shared.

Fans of the club were clearly unhappy with what they'd seen on social media, with many unimpressed that he was, in their opinion, trying to impress the girl in the video.

The former Newcastle United striker also took to Twitter, this time his choice, to apologise for the incident and the 'unacceptable' language he used.

"I am aware of a video that was published on social media … in it I used language that was unacceptable," he said in a statement on social media.

"The video was cut short and edited, but I have to accept the impact this has had and I realise I should not have put myself in that position.

"I have explained to the gaffer what happened and apologised to him but I also want to apologise to all Brentford fans.

"I respect the way you all support the team and I have to say how much I love playing for the club and for you.

"I’ll be back at training next week, working hard to score more goals to win us more games for the rest of the season."
