Brendan Rodgers announced by Celtic LIVE as Irishman declares 'let’s get to work'

The cans are getting cracked open in Paisley and across the world after Celtic announced the stunning return of Brendan Rodgers.

The Irishman is back in Paradise after signing a three-year deal – four years after leaving the club.

He replaces Ange Postecoglou and after a period of reflection, the legions of Celtic fans – none more so than Patsy – have been whipped into a frenzy.

Dermot Desmond has got the man he really wanted and the manager who won seven trophies out of seven is back in Glasgow’s East End in a bid to keep Celtic’s vice-like grip on domestic dominance.

He will go up against Rangers boss Michael Beale in a fascinating duel in Scottish football. But there’s also talk Rodgers, 50, will be handed a £35million transfer budget as he looks to make the club a European force again.

The County Antrim man’s delight to once again be Celtic’s manager is plain to see as the support’s pain over the departure of Postecoglou was wiped away by their returning Messiah.

An image circulating on social media shows an email from RNS - the news service of the London Stock Exchange - and signed off by club secretary Chris Duffy.

Celtic is pleased to announce the appointment of Brendan Rodgers as the Club's first team manager with Brendan commencing employment with immediate effect. The Board of Celtic is pleased to welcome Brendan back to the Club following a successful spell as manager between May 2016 and February 2019 and looks forward to working with him again in the future.
