BREAKING: Body of man pulled from water in Chorlton Water Park

The body of a man has been pulled from water at a park in south Manchester this morning.

Emergency services were called to Chorlton Water Park at around 8am today (Monday) following reports of a body in the water. Police said the body was identified as a man.

'In-depth enquiries' will need to be carried out to identify him. His death is believed to be non-suspicious at this stage.

An area of the park, which is popular with families and dog walkers, remains cordoned off by officers this morning. In a statement, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "GMP have attended Chorlton Water Park just after 8am this morning (Monday 10th July 2023) to reports of a body in the water.

"The body has been recovered and identified to be that of a man, although in depth enquiries are still to be done to determine the man’s identity.

"The death is thought to be non-suspicious. The park remains closed whilst emergency services deal with the incident."
