Brazil 5-1 Tunisia: Marquinhos' reaction to national anthem being booed
Brazil‘s 5-1 victory over Tunisia was sadly overshadowed by some unsavoury behaviour from supporters.
Fans supporting the African nation – who’ve qualified for the 2022 World Cup – packed into Paris Saint-Germain‘s Parc des Princes stadium on Tuesday evening.
The actions of a few in the stands were simply unacceptable, with Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison having a banana thrown his direction while celebrating a goal.
A banana thrown onto the pitch at Richarlison? In 2022? Where is the vitriol we had when he did kick-ups in a Premier League game? The complacency over racism in football is returning. pic.twitter.com/45LzgRgyXp
Disgusting, absolutely disgusting.
The police need to get involved and find out who’s responsible for the abhorrent act, so the culprit can be punished accordingly.
Tunisia fans didn’t exactly cover themselves in glory before a ball was kicked in the French capital either.
Brazil’s national anthem was loudly booed at the Parc des Princes and Marquinhos – who is PSG’s captain – simply could not hide his disgust while lined up on the pitch.
