Bradley Dack still hopes to play a part for Gillingham this season after being left out by the League 2 club in recent games

Bradley Dack has expressed his frustration at missing out on playing for the Gills.

Dack, 31, hasn’t featured for Gillingham in their last three games and posted about his disappointment on social media.

In a message on his instagram account on Saturday, he wrote: “Gutted not to be out there helping the boys.

“I know I’ve got a lot left to give.”

He signed off: “Hope everyone has a good weekend.”

The Gills continue to struggle to score and they played out a goalless draw with Walsall on Saturday, leaving them 19th in the table.

Speaking ahead of the weekend, manager John Coleman was asked about Dack’s omission

He said: “Bradley is obviously an unbelievable talent but he is just lacking sharpness, to get involved in the games. It’s a chicken and egg situation.

“In order to get sharp he will feel he has to play but we haven’t got the time to play people through into sharpness.

“It is an age-old problem when players are out of the side and they miss a big part of the season, or pre-season, but there is an opportunity to get sharp in training.”

Coleman admitted his team looked “tired and leggy” in their weekend goalless draw with Walsall, calling on his side to up the tempo of their play to try and score more.

Dack’s last matchday squad involvement was on the substitute bench against Newport County in a game the Gills lost 3-1. Coleman didn’t use any of his substitutes that night.

The Gills made a big deal of Dack’s return this season. Back in 2017 he left for a move to Championship side Blackburn Rovers and played over 150 league games for them before suffering two knee injuries.

He was at Sunderland last season but moved to the Gills ahead of this season, hoping to enjoy a second promotion with the club.
