Boy, 10, knocked down in hit-and-run - the driver 'shouted at him and sped off'

Police are appealing for witnesses after a boy was knocked down in a hit-and-run in Stockport. The incident happened in Brinnington on March 25, police said.

The 10-year-old was hit by a dark-coloured vehicle. The driver then got out, shouted at him and sped off from the scene.

The boy was left with bruises and minor cuts. Police said a check found the registration plate on the vehicle had 'BJ' in it.

Officers are now appealing for any witnesses or anyone who has any information to come forward. The name of the street where the incident happened has not been revealed.

A post on the GMP Heatons & Reddish Facebook page said: "#APPEAL. Police are appealing for the Public's help following a hit and run incident in Brinnington that occurred on the 25th March, whereby a dark coloured vehicle hit a 10 year old boy before getting out, shouting at him and speeding off.

"A partial VRN was found to contain the letters 'BJ'. Luckily the Child only sustained bruising and minor cuts. Do you think you may know anything about this event? If you have any information, ring 101 and quote log 2881 of 25/03/2022."
