Boughey saying bonjour to Cachet Guineas double tilt with French trip

George Boughey's surprise 1000 Guineas winner Cachet is ready to cash in on a Guineas double with an assault on the French version.

The 16/1 winner of the second English Classic of the season at Newmarket is "more likely than not" to go for the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches at ParisLongchamp says Boughey.

Highclere's managing director, Harry Herbert hadn't quite recovered from the emotional high of the syndicate taking such a huge race.

"We all know how hard it is. It's taken 30 years to get the blue colours in front in a Classic in this country, which just shows how hard it is.

Highclere can take a lesiurely approach to the filly's future with such a prestigious race under her saddle but Herbert expects the three-year-old to take up the Guineas double challenge over the Channel before heading to Royal Ascot for the Group 1 Coronation Stakes.

"It's up for discussion and I expect at the moment it's more likely than not, but we just want to absolutely see how she comes out of the race. She seems fine and George is thrilled to bits with her.

"I suppose with the way she races and the way she quickens, faster ground will probably suit better."
