Boots reduces £66 designer perfume to £26 that 'lasts ages'

Boots shoppers are snapping up a 'long lasting' fragrance that makes a great Valentines Day gift and it's better than half price. Man by Calvin Klein would normally cost £66 for a 100ml bottle but is now £26.50 on Boots.

It opens up fresh with notes of mandarin orange, bergamot, rosemary and violet leaf before diving into a spicy heart of bay leaf, incense, nutmeg and mint. The woody notes come through in the base which consists of cypress, guaiac wood, sandalwood, musk and amber.

Man was first launched in 2007 with Ann Gottlieb on the nose. Gottlieb has worked on a massive variety of scents from Marc Jacobs' Honey to Carolina Herrera's 212.

It's pulled in an average rating of 4.3 out of 5 from over 50 reviews. One shopper wrote: "My daughter's boyfriend loved this aftershave & now my son wants some, it's at a great price at the moment value for money for the size."

A second penned: "Got this for my husband least year and he loves it. He prefers it over all his perfumes. And I love it as well. Very long lasting too."

A third said: "Bought this for my husband as it was on promotion, he liked it that much he’s now on a second bottle."

One shopper complained that the scent doesn't particularly stand out to them, writing: "This has to be the most average fragrance I have ever been given, can't say if I like or dislike it, sweet, woody, synthetic. Lasts about an hour on the skin. The bottle itself is gorgeous, heavy and masculine."

Man tends to be popular with fans of Dior Fahrenheit, which is currently reduced to £76 on The Perfume Shop. The two do share some notes such as mandarin, bergamot and amber although the Dior offering is much more expensive.
