Boost for Arsenal, Tottenham as major challengers drop out of race to sign Juve star

Arsenal and Tottenham have seemingly been given a boost as a major challenger to sign Paulo Dybala has reportedly dropped out of the transfer race.

Dybala looks set to leave Juventus at the end of the season as his contract expires on June 30. The forward was willing to pen an extension, only to be left annoyed by the club changing their terms.

The 28-year-old is now among the growing list of players who will likely swap clubs in the summer, along with French pair Kylian Mbappe and Paul Pogba.

It is unsurprising that teams are now queuing up to land Dybala, who has been capped 32 times by Argentina.

Tottenham have regularly been put in the frame to sign him and could finally do so later this year. Rivals Arsenal, meanwhile, are in talks with Dybala’s agent, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Another club apparently eyeing Dybala’s services is Barcelona. But Juve FC News, who cite Tuttosport, claim the Blaugrana will not enter negotiations.

Barcelona boss Xavi was recently given the chance to complete a deal for the attacker. However, he doesn’t see any need to take him to the Nou Camp.

Xavi has concerns over Dybala’s fitness record. In recent weeks alone, he has been kept out of action by thigh and hip problems.
