Bold call: Journalist expects Ange to change Celtic's 'strategy' after Hampden mistake

Kieran Devlin has taken to Twitter to outline how Celtic can pick up a huge win on Sunday in the Old Firm derby.

Celtic head into this Sunday’s clash perhaps still trying to mend their wounds from the last time they faced off against their Glasgow rivals, which saw them knocked out of the Scottish Cup semi-final.

The Bhoys will likely fancy their chances this Sunday given that Rangers have been in European action over in Germany this midweek, as well as the match being held at Celtic Park instead of a neutral venue, which was the case last time out.

However, Devlin believes that Celtic have to change how they played against Rangers at Hampden Park, with the journalist pointing out what has to be different on Sunday.

In sharing a piece for The Athletic ahead of the game, he said: “After the Hampden defeat, Postecoglou said that his players did not take as many ‘risks’ in possession as he liked. That day, Celtic were cautious and indecisive. Arguably their best strategy for Sunday is boldness, even a little arrogance, on the ball.”

TIF Thoughts on the Old Firm derby…

If Celtic are able to pick up all three points, it would all but get two hands on the SPFL trophy as they would extend their lead at the top of the table to nine points with just three games left in the campaign.

It would have been a major blow to Celtic and their confidence, but their cup defeat may well have handed them a bigger desire to beat Rangers on Sunday as they look for revenge and to be able to all but celebrate winning the league title in front of their biggest rivals – and if they can win it with ‘arrogance’, it would make it all the sweeter.
