'Boisterous' Erik ten Hag slammed for having Man United 'way off' top level

Teddy Sheringham has slammed Manchester United's results under Erik ten Hag, despite their FA Cup final win.

It was reported on Tuesday evening that Ten Hag will remain in post at Old Trafford after a performance review of the 2023/24 season. The Red Devils finished eighth in the Premier League, their lowest top-flight finish since 1989/90 and crashed out of the Champions League in the group stages.

But one ray of sunshine in a difficult campaign was their surprise FA Cup final win over rivals Manchester City at Wembley. United's victory against Pep Gaurdiola's side was their second trophy in two seasons under the Dutchman, having lifted the Carabao Cup in his first season.

“They've got to get back to producing their best moments week in week out, that is what playing for Manchester United is all about, not having a cup run and coming good here and there.

“They need to be challenging in the Champions League and for the Premier League title, but they are a long way off that.”
