Bohemians' Keith Buckley plots to breach Galway fortress in FAI Cup semi-final

Bohemians captain Keith Buckley admits that his side have a huge task on their hands if they're to appear in their second Sports Direct FAI Cup final in three seasons.

Buckley’s side travel west on Saturday to face a Galway side that have been head and shoulders ahead of everyone other team in Division One this year.

John Caulfield’s outfit have already secured their return to the Premier Division next season and are 20 points clear at the top of the table.

The Tribesmen have won every single game they’ve played at home this campaign and Buckley is aware of the challenge that they’ll present for Bohs in a game that will be broadcast live on RTÉ 2.

"We’ve got a big task on our hands on Saturday," Buckley told RTÉ Sport. "Galway are flying, 16 out of 16 I think they have won at home, so it’s a fortress up there.

"I think it will be hoping as well, Galway a well-supported team so we have a big job on Saturday.

"We’ve been looking at them and they’ve been very, very good in both competitions in terms of their play and how they play, they’re so effective."

Bohemians continue to fight on two fronts as they chase cup glory along with a top three finish in the league that would guarantee European football next season.

The Gypsies sit four points behind St Patrick’s Athletic in the race for third place and while Buckley admits that his side have struggled for consistency at times this season, he’s hoping for a big finish to the campaign.

"You can always do better, it’s been a bit patchy for us at times," he said. "We’ve had some good runs, then we went on a bit of a sticky time and then put some more runs together.
