'Bogeyman' returns? Stormers set to welcome Warrick Gelant back – report

The Stormers are set to welcome Springbok World Cup-winning fullback Warrick Gelant back from France, according to a Sunday report.

According to weekly newspaper Rapport, Gelant, nicknamed the "Bogeyman", could make a return to Cape Town only a year after leaving for Racing 92, Springbok captain Siya Kolisi’s next club.

Gelant helped guide the Stormers to the inaugural United Rugby Championship (URC) title in 2022 before departing overseas.

The 28-year-old’s contract is reportedly set to expire at the end of next year but Racing Metro is willing to let the gifted outside back, who can play wing and outside centre, return to South Africa as early as next month.

The Stormers are looking to bolster their squad after finishing runners up in the URC this year.
