Blow for Pogba as Juventus set low maximum wage for Man Utd star

Man Utd midfielder Paul Pogba would have to take a huge wage cut if he chooses to join Juventus in the summer, according to reports.

The 29-year-old gave the clearest indication yet that he will leave the Red Devils in the summer after insisting last week that he needs to be winning trophies and questioning if he has a role at the club.

Pogba told Le Figaro: “You have to be honest, the last five seasons have not satisfied me – really not at all.

“This year it is dead, we won’t win anything. Whether it is with Manchester United or at another club, I want to win trophies.”

He also questioned the way he was being played by Man Utd interim boss Ralf Rangnick, Pogba added: “It’s simple with France, I play and I play in my position – I know my role and I feel the confidence of the coach and the players.

“I get along very well with [France boss Didier Deschamps], he gave me a role that I know, but at Manchester United do I really have a role? I ask the question but I don’t have an answer.”

Pogba’s contract expires at the end of the season with reports indicating he could listen to offers from Premier League clubs.
