Blow for Bulls as Steenkamp, Manjezi set for overseas stints

The Bulls will soon be without the services of locks Sintu Manjezi and Walt Steenkamp.

The Rapport suggests that the two will be leaving the franchise towards the end of the year.

Steenkamp, a former Cheetah, will see his contract end in October and is unlikely to sign a new one.

He will reportedly head to Japan after he was previously linked with Bath.

Manjezi, who also joined Jake White's charges from the Cheetahs in 2020, is set for a stint in England.

The Bulls' locks stocks will be a little thin when the departures happen with Reinardt Ludwig, Janko Swanepoel, Jacques Potgieter (currently injured) and Ruan Nortje filling the Number 4 and 5 positions.

Former Lions lock Ruan Vermaak will offset that slightly when he arrives on 1 July after signing a three-year contract at the Pretoria-based franchise.

Further reinforcements are probably necessary following Steenkamp and Manjezi's departure, however.
