Blackpool team news update ahead of Nottingham Forest clash

The Tangerines have had a difficult campaign when it comes to injuries, which have set back their promotion challenge.

According to Lancs Live, Neil Critchley is hoping that the international break has allowed his players the chance to make use of the extra recovery time.

Richard Keogh looks like he could be in line for a return to action when Blackpool face Nottingham Forest this weekend.

The 35-year old suffered a calf injury in the side’s 1-1 draw with Coventry City in February.

A scan on the injury revealed it was much worse than first feared and he has been out of action ever since.

Keshi Anderson is also hoping to make a return to action this weekend, with the playmaker in the final stages of recovery from his hamstring injury.

Anderson has been on the sidelines since limping off in the team’s FA Cup game with Hartlepool in January.

Anderson will be looking to take his place back in the team that CJ Hamilton has made his own in recent weeks.

The 26-year old was spotted in training with Matty Virtue and Chris Maxwell, who are also on the road to recovery from injury.

Blackpool are also hopeful that Luke Garbutt and Jordan Gabriel are also nearing a return to the team.

Blackpool are currently 13th in the Championship, nine points adrift of the play-off places with nine games left to play.

These final few weeks of the season will be a relentless charge to the finish line.

Blackpool will need all hands on deck to get through the final months unscathed.

Especially so if the team still has play-off ambitions.

Critchley’s side will need to be in top form to make up ground on the teams above them in the table, so will need their best players available as often as possible to have the best chance of that.
