As uncertainty swirls around St Andrew's, with takeover talk clouding virtually every other issue, the noise coming out of Birmingham City is very much "we carry on until told otherwise".

As things stand BirminghamLive understands Lee Bowyer remains as manager, with reports elsewhere also pointing that way, despite links with Mark Warburton and previous claims that Rob Edwards, now at Watford, was on the club’s radar. Much of that depends who you listen to but the fact seems that while the current owners remain in control, the direction of travel seems to be business as usual.

Other parties, claiming to be interested in a takeover clearly have their ideas on managers and players – see the rumours surrounding Warburton and Diego Costa – but until they are in charge at St Andrew’s, such talk is hypothetical. You can’t appoint a head coach to or sign a striker for a club you don’t own. All of which means the main focus of concentration should be the Hong Kong Stock Exchange news ticker.

As Blues blogger Daniel Ivery continues to point out anything relating to key takeover terms like "exclusivity" or "due diligence" requires Birmingham Sports Holdings to make a formal announcement "to prevent a false market in the shares of BSH". As things stand – nothing, nada, zilch.

Of course this doesn’t mean cogs aren’t turning in the background, indeed having spoken to people claiming to be interested, they are adamant the wheels are rotating. They believe there is a deal to be done. None have been able to give exact timings, however, which creates the danger that nothing changes until everything changes.
