Birmingham City sanction loan deal for teenage striker

Birmingham City have loaned teenage striker Yohan Zohore to non-league outfit Hednesford Town for the remainder of the season. The 19-year-old has linked up with Southern Premier Central outfit and could make his debut against Royston Town.

The French youngster has played ten games for Blues’ Under 23s having been at the club for a couple of years. He joined from Castelnau le Crès under-17s in 2019 - having also spent time in reputable football academy Athletic Club Boulogne-Billancourt [ACBB].

ACBB has been the breeding ground for many a promising French footballer in recent years with Marcus Thuram, the son of World Cup winning defender Lilian, Allan St Maxim, Jean Kevin Augustin and Myziane Maolida all recent graduates.

Zohore will now get his first taste of senior football and a Hednesford statement said: “Originally Birmingham City wasn’t [sic] seeking to loan him out, however having seen some of our recent games and alongside the loan of Oliver Basey in between the sticks, Blues have been impressed with the football on and off the pitch which we are continually building.

“We’re delighted that Blues have agreed this loan agreement for Yohan, as he’s a tremendous talent, and certainly fits the Pitmen’s requirements. We’re building for today and tomorrow at all times, and we would like to thank Birmingham City for allowing this loan to happen.”
