Bill Belichick shows off his lighter side during visit with UFC president Dana White

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick appears to have earned himself another championship during his recent trip to Las Vegas. 

Bill Belichick is no stranger to picking up trophies throughout the football season. With 8 Super Bowl titles to his name, six of which came with the New England Patriots, with the other two coming as a defensive coordinator for the New York Giants during the late 1980s and early 1990s. 

But recently things haven’t been so great for Belichick and the Patriots. He’s had to watch former franchise quarterback Tom Brady walk away from the team, join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and then win a Super Bowl in his first season, whilst he went 7-9 with Cam Newton under centre. 

Things though did get a little bit better, as Mac Jones managed to get the franchise back on track as he helped them go 10-7 in his first year, which could very well be the start of the Patriots being back to where they have been for a large part of the 21st century, and that’s challenging for the title once again.

But in amongst all of that, they do still have to play preseason games in order to fine-tune the details before the season kicks off, and this weekend sees them take on the Las Vegas Raiders in Las Vegas, a game that will see Belichick reunite with his former offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels.

Before the game though, Belichick paid a visit to UFC headquarters where the usually dour and anything but delightful Belichick showed off his lighter side as he posed with a championship belt given to him by UFC president Dana White, even parading around as if he had just come out of a prize fight:
