Bill Belichick: Fans left howling at footage of Patriots coach blanking rookie's gift

Bill Belichick’s reaction to a gesture by one of the New England Patriots rookies has generated quite a buzz on social media. 

Bill Belichick is no stranger to getting things handed to him throughout the football season. With 8 Super Bowl titles to his name, six of which came with the New England Patriots, with the other two coming as a defensive coordinator for the New York Giants during the late 1980s and early 1990s. 

Those trophies come off the back of a lot of wins both in the regular and postseason, and this week was a special one for him, as with a win over the Cleveland Browns (ironically the team he first led as a head coach back in the early 1990s), he moves into joint-second place all time when it comes to coaching wins alongside former Chicago Bears head coach George Halas, and behind only former Miami Dolphins head coach Don Shula, with 324. 

It’s a list of accolades like that which have thrust him into the conversation as possibly the greatest head coach of all time. However, he still has to deal with what is going on in the here and now, and that is making sure that the New England Patriots’ season doesn’t go astray.

Things though have not gone as well as they could for the Patriots in 2022, with chaos in the offensive room due to a lack of an established, permanent offensive coordinator, their offense has somewhat stumbled, playing a large part in why they came into the game with the Browns with a 2-3 record.

But things clicked a lot better for them in Ohio, as they were able to come out with a 38-15 win, and one player who had a day to remember was rookie safety Brenden Schooler, who recovered a fumble during the game, and perhaps as a way of wanting to thank the head coach for taking a chance on him,
