'Biggest icks' for men on dating apps unveiled – one well-known phrase is a no-go

While the time for a summer fling may be coming to an end, that doesn't mean your chances of finding love are over – but you might not be helping yourself if you do these things on dating apps.

A group of men have come together to share the biggest turn-offs they've noticed on women's Tinder profiles that make them instantly swipe left.

In a Reddit thread, one user asked: "Fellas what are some things you see semi-regularly on profiles that make you cringe or roll your eyes? For me, it's whenever I see a profile and over half of her pictures are of her getting drunk at a party or bar." In response, most men agreed.

The majority of men agreed "bad spelling and grammar" is an immediate no-go, while others mentioned having the phrase "sick of being on Tinder" in your bio is a red flag. One user commented: "10 pictures where she has taken a selfie from the exact same side angle. You can quickly flip through them and it's like her head doesn't move but her clothes are changing."

Another user listed six pet peeves: "Snapchat filters on every photo. Bathroom selfie with toilet visible in background. Car selfie. 'I like my dog more than you'. Jokes about hooking up with your dad. 'Just here for travel tips in X area'."

A third user commented, "They put their Instagram handle up, you try to check them out but it's private." Others concurred that a cliche-ridden profile is pointless, as it reveals little about someones character. One user expressed frustration with trite phrases: "Cliches: 'partner in crime', 'treat me like a queen', 'work hard play harder', 'sapiosexual'. Showing too much skin."
