Bielsa brushes-off talk of Leeds sacking ahead of Man United test
Marcelo Bielsa has insisted his Leeds players have to be proactive and not rely on a partisan crowd if they are to beat Manchester United and ease their relegation fears.
The two famous rivals haven’t met at Elland Road in front of fans in the league since 2003 but Bielsa is adamant his team have to inspire the home support rather than the other way round.
‘We need to think more of what we can give to the public than what we receive from them,’ said the Argentinian.
‘There are things you can control and things you can’t. What you need to do is focus on maximising what you can control.
‘It’s not difficult for the players or me as a manager to be motivated. Nobody can stay at this level if they can’t guarantee 100 per cent enthusiasm. The level of competition forces that.’
