Bidny on resolution regarding his dismissal: parliament will provide proper assessment of such initiative
Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Matviy Bidny has said that the Verkhovna Rada will provide a proper assessment of the initiative for his dismissal from office, which has been registered in parliament.
"Regarding the draft resolution registered by Yuriy Oleksiyovych Pavlenko, I think it is quite normal that he and I, as a former minister of youth in the Yanukovych government, have differences in how the sector should develop. I think parliament will provide a proper assessment of such an initiative," Bidny said at a press conference "The Future of Ukrainian Sports" on Thursday in Kyiv, commenting on the people’s deputy’s initiative for his dismissal.
The minister also once again explained his position regarding the election of the rector of the National University of Physical Education and Sports of Ukraine (NUPESU), the situation around which became the reason for the initiative for his dismissal.
"From the point of view of the law, the postponement of the elections was absolutely transparent and carried out within the legal framework. The university is operating, and an acting rector has been appointed. We plan to conduct an audit to verify all the facts that were received," he stated.
As reported, the Ministry of Youth and Sports previously announced the postponement of the rector elections at NUPESU and turned to the National Police of Ukraine with a request to check information regarding possible violations.
