Best Premier League intro? 'Written in the Stars' video is going viral

It’s been a long summer without Premier League football.

Okay, the women’s Euro 2022 has been brilliant and has more than satisfied our football appetite.

But nothing beats the Premier League, does it?

This time next week, we’ll all be getting ready for the 2022/23 season to begin.

Predictions are being made, shirts are being bought, Fantasy Football teams are being selected. The new Premier League campaign is almost upon us.

Each new season brings fresh changes.

New kits, new players, new rules and, most importantly, a new introduction for Sky Sports’ coverage of the Premier League.

Last season, the introduction included Celeste’s ‘Stop This Flame.’

It was good but it wasn’t iconic.

Certainly not as iconic as ‘Written in the Stars’ by Tinie Tempah.

The 2010 song was used for the Premier League intro on Sky Sports during the 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons.

The song choice was absolutely perfect – “seasons come and go” are very appropriate lyrics while the graphics were spine-tingling good.

The golden Premier League lion followed by some of the Premier League’s best players at the time including Steven Gerrard, Fernando Torres and Robin van Persie all celebrating in slow motion was just brilliant.

The intro was recently posted on Twitter and racked up plenty of retweets in a short space of time as nostalgic fans remembered the incredible intro.
