The second round of 124th U.S. Open concluded Friday evening with Ludvig Åberg leading at Pinehurst No. 2.

Belgium's Thomas Detry, Patrick Cantlay and 2020 U.S. Open winner Bryson DeChambeau are currently tied for second on the leaderboard, trailing Aberg by 1 shot heading into the final 36 holes.

There might not be a better way to make the cut — ever. Sitting at 7 under, 2 shots outside the projected cut line heading into his final hole — the par-3 ninth — Francesco Molinari needed a miracle to make the weekend. And he got just that.
