Bernardo Silva goal: Man City star scores brilliant half-volley vs Sporting
Unless you were a fan of Sporting or Manchester City, you probably weren’t watching the clash between the two sides on Tuesday night.
Why?
Well, that’s because a heavyweight clash between Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid was taking place at the same time.
But those who did tune into Sporting vs City were treated to an absolute treat from Bernardo Silva.
Pep Guardiola’s side had taken an early lead through Riyad Mahrez. The home side thought the goal would be chalked offside but after a lengthy VAR check, Kevin De Bruyne was adjudged to be onside as he pulled the ball back to Mahrez.
But it was the second goal that we want to talk about because it was absolutely outrageous from Bernardo.
A City corner was cleared into the air and the danger appeared to be over. However, as the ball dropped, Bernardo ran onto the ball. As it hit the floor, Silva hit it perfectly in off the crossbar to double his side’s lead.
