Benjamin Sesko: Former Man Utd target scores outrageous volley vs Sweden

Benjamin Sesko was linked with Manchester United at every twist and turn this summer.

In a hectic few weeks that saw Erik ten Hag scoop the likes of Lisandro Martinez, Antony and Casemiro, the Red Devils seldom went more than a couple of days without being linked to one of the continent’s finest young talents.

That’s because Sesko really does look to be the umpteen-millionth wonderkid to work his way through the Red Bull ranks, following in the footsteps of none other than Erling Braut Haaland.

The 19-year-old forward has only been playing the professional game for the past three seasons, but really started to turn heads across the 2021/22 campaign as he notched 11 goals in 37 matches for Salzburg.

However, we do appreciate that the Austrian Bundesliga isn’t the most popular European league amongst casual audiences, so a lot of Sesko’s finest displays have inevitably flown under the radar.

But that doesn’t mean that there hasn’t been some tantalising displays of his talent along the way, namely his superb performance against Liverpool during a pre-season friendly this summer.

Though, if you thought the United target looked impeccable during that particular outing, then you’ll no doubt be blown away by the most high-profile display of his ability yet this week.

That’s because Sesko moved to four senior goals for the Slovenian national team in epic style on Tuesday night, scoring one of the most outrageous volleys you’re likely to see all season long.

The Salzburg forward absolutely lit up the UEFA Nations League clash against Sweden in the 28th minute with the kind of thumping first-time finish that Robin van Persie delivered in his prime.
