'Beautiful' NHS worker, 33, made incredible gesture before tragically dying of incurable brain tumour
A ‘selfless’ woman diagnosed with a brain tumour raised nearly £20,000 to help others like her before her tragic death at the age of 33.
At the age of 30, Zara Taylor, who was described as a “beautiful” and “funny” person by her heartbroken husband, was told she had an aggressive glioblastoma (GBM), a high-grade form of brain cancer, and had just 12 to 18 months to live.
The NHS worker decided to use the little time she had left to help find a cure. She set up a fundraising initiative called ‘Zara’s Appeal for a Cure’ and went on to help raise over £19,000 before she was sadly too ill to continue.

Jordan Taylor, 31, a retail manager with the Co-op supermarket from Blackpool, met his wife 10 years ago through his sister. The pair had hoped to have kids in the future before they received the tragic news that Zara's life would be cut short, just over a year after their wedding.
“Our dreams included doing lots of travelling and having children," Jordan said. "Zara had a minor gynaecological procedure in December 2020 to help her fertility. Sadly, just days later, she had her first seizure and instead of starting a family, Zara had to make do with mothering her surrogate children – her beloved dogs Lola and Tia."
Following the diagnosis, the couple made sure they had plans "for every weekend and every holiday" to make the most of their time together. “Every day after Zara’s diagnosis was a bonus," Jordan said.
Jordan described his wife as "a really lovely, caring person who never liked a fuss". He added: "She was funny with a dark sense of humour, which she kept
