It’s the final countdown to the 2023 NFL regular season.

We are officially one week away from watching the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs and the Detroit Lions go head-to-head on Thursday Night Football in the opener.

The Chiefs are currently -6.5 -115 at FanDuel. I’m very interested to see where the number for Thursday Night Football ends up at kickoff.

While I’ve added to my NFL futures card with multiple picks in this column over the past two days, I don’t have any futures recommendation in today’s Morning Coffee.

With a light MLB slate on deck, I’ve included a FanDuel Best Bet for tonight’s college football slate.

Meanwhile, the top two teams in baseball are set to go head-to-head in a potential NLCS showdown.

While I haven’t placed a wager on tonight’s series opener between the Atlanta Braves and Los Angeles Dodgers, there’s a good chance that changes before the first pitch.

This is the Morning Coffee for Thursday, Aug. 31, 2023.

The Atlanta Braves are the favourite to win the World Series at +270 odds at FanDuel. The Los Angeles Dodgers are the second choice at +320.

No other team has shorter than +600 odds to win it all.

Meanwhile, FanDuel recently added the following market to its long list of MLB futures options: To Reach The NLCS.

Atlanta and Los Angeles are co-favourites in that market with each team listed at -260 odds to reach the NLCS.

The Philadelphia Phillies are the third choice to reach the NLCS at +330 at FanDuel.
