BBC Strictly Come Dancing viewers make same comparison to past winners after 'ingenious' moment

Strictly Come Dancing viewers were all left saying the same thing after a special moment on tonight's live show (November 9). The celebrity contestants and their professional dance partners are now competing in the hopes of making it through to Blackpool next week.

Saturday's live show saw an emotional couple's choice performance from Pete Wicks dedicated to his late nan, whilst JB Gill and Amy Dowden's replacement Lauren Oakley topped the leaderboard with their energetic Samba.

The last couple of the night to perform were Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell, who left viewers and judges visibly moved after their 'inspiring' couple's choice routine.

The 47-year-old, who is the BBC dance contest's first ever blind contestant performed to Instant Karma! (We All Shine On) by John Lennon.

But for about 10 seconds of their routine, the dancefloor fell to darkness before the couple then reappeared in a lift whilst giant sparklers went off in the background. Despite the room being pitch black, the music continued, which fans believe was a symbol to Chris' experience of being blind and performing on the show.

Shirley Ballas fought back tears whilst giving feedback as the couple earnt a score of 7 from Craig, 8 from Motsi and 9s from Shirley and Anton, giving them a total score of 33.

Fans of the BBC dance contest took to X to reflect on the 'powerful' blackout moment, whilst also comparing it to former 2021 Strictly winners Rose and Giovanni, with Rose making history as the first deaf contestant to win the Glitterball.
