BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Chris McCausland confesses reason for 'hard work' after going 'missing'

Chris McCausland has admitted the reason why he has been 'working hard' this week ahead of his next live Strictly Come Dancing performance.

The comedian will return to the ballroom on Saturday night (November 2) alongside professional dance partner Dianne Buswell. They will pay homage to rock band Kiss by dancing a tango to Rock And Rock All Nite in the show's first-ever 'Icons Week'.

It comes after the pair appeared deflated following their last live performance, which took place during the BBC One dance contest's Halloween special last Saturday (October 26).

At the time, Chris seen getting the spooky festivites off to a lively start with a hip shaking samba to Stayin’ Alive by The Bee Gees. Dressed in a sparkly suit and frazzled wig, the stand-up grooved along the floor in between gravestones with his partner Dianne to pick up a score of 26 out of a possible 40.

But during his chat with Claudia Winkleman, Chris didn't shy away from the fact that the Samba had been the dance of death for a number of the 2024 series' couples so far, and recognised that going first has also seen some of his fellow competitors end up in the bottom-two.

However, Chris and Dianne survived the 'curse' and were seen making it through to week seven of Strictly's 20th-anniversary series, which marks the first 'Icons Week', which was introduced last month as part of the show's special year.

Ahead of their performance, Chris and Dianne shared a joint message on Instagram after going quiet on their fans and followers by not posting their daily 'CHRIS’S DIAnneRIES' videos.
