BBC One Show presenters' surprise after Denise Van Outen says she cooked for Glastonbury headliner

Denise Van Outen once cooked a meal for living legend Diana Ross, she revealed on The One Show. The TV actress also said her reality TV past helped her out when she found herself prepping food for the superstar.

Joe Lycett and Denise Van Outen were guests on The One Show on Friday, June 24, when she spoke about the interaction she had with Glastonbury headliner Diana Ross.

Guest co-presenter Ronan Keating provided a segway for Van Outen to share the story of how she ended up cooking for Diana Ross. The ex-Boyzone singer Keating said: "Now, Denise, we all know you love a festival… you were at the Cambridge festival and one of the headliners that are at the Glastonbury this weekend, you helped them out?"

Eager to regale her story Denise enthusiastically responded: "Diana Ross!"

Denise's response was met with surprise from co-host Alex Jones and Joe Lycett. Van Outen went on to explain: "I ended up cooking for Diana Ross. Yeah so, I was at the Cambridge Club festival. I was DJing there and they were providing all the food and apparently Diana Ross was very specific about what she wanted to eat.

"So they grabbed hold of my friend the chef Tristan Welch, who I did Cooking with the Stars with, and he just grabbed me and said 'I need you to come to the kitchen with me. We need to provide a meal for Miss Ross.’"

Fascinated by what meal the singer had, Alex Jones asked: "So what was it?" To which Denise responded: "She had steak… medium rare."

Probing for more details, Jones asked: "Was it with chips?" Denise replied: "No chips, bit heavy when you’re going to perform, lots of vegetables."
