BBC EastEnders airs major update as fans left distracted by two-word jibe

EastEnders aired a huge twist during Tuesday's episode (January 21) as the aftermath of Cindy Beale's (Michelle Collins) attack continued. But Big Mo (Laila Morse) left viewers distracted following a two-worded jibe towards George Knight (Colin Salmon).

As the latest trip to Walford got underway, George stepped out of his car holding a bag containing unknown items and bumped into Big Mo. "Something else to whack Cindy around the head with?" she jokingly asked George as he simply replied by saying: "You what?"

Big Mo continued: "George you look tired, not sleeping? Guilty conscious? Here, just between me and you, I won't blab to anyone, did you do it?"

As Mo was talking George peered over at the Beale's house where Cindy could be seen moving back in with estrange fiancé Ian (Adam Woodyatt). Cindy's former lover Junior Knight (Micah Balfour) was also jogging through the Square and witnessed Cindy reuniting with her family after their affair was exposed.

Big Mo then asked George: "Are you the Walford Whacker?" This refers to Cindy being bashed over the head on Christmas Day and left for dead. George ignored Big Mo and instead locked eyes with a smug looking Ian.

At The Vic, Anna (Molly Rainford) and Gina (Francesca Henry) told their dad George about Cindy, sparking suspicion over Ian's behaviour. George was persuaded to call round to warn Cindy that she might be in danger by being with Ian, but Ian opened the door and refused to let him see his ex-wife.

Elaine later overheard George and Gina throwing accusations around about Ian, and wanting to help, she lured Ian to The Queen Vic.

At the pub, Elaine (Harriet Thorpe) made-up a story about wanting to buy Beale’s Eels from Ian but he quickly got suspicious. With Ian away,
