Bayonne 7-20 Scarlets: West Walians make it four wins from four in Europe to seal top spot

The Scarlets sealed top spot in Pool B of the Challenge Cup with a comfortable away win over Bayonne that maintained their 100 per cent record in the competition.

Dwayne Peel's side were rarely troubled, with tries from Jonathan Davies, Joe Roberts and Steff Evans helping them to a victory free of jeopardy.

With qualification for the knockout stages and a home last 16 tie at Parc y Scarlets already assured , the Scarlets headed to France knowing that just two match points would be enough to top Pool B. That fate never looked in doubt as the Scarlets largely controlled matters at Stade Jean Dauger.

They now wait to discover their last 16 opponents, with the sixth-placed side in Pool A - currently Bath - who they will face as pool winners.

Perhaps the most pleasing aspect for Peel would have been the absence of any cards, given how discipline has been a constant issue for the Scarlets this season.
